CASA developers,
I just tried out the latest version of the viewer, the version installed in
release #1489.
This is so much nicer than the primitive version I have been using till now,
the #1480 version. Thank-you for all your work.
1. I was especially happy to see that it is now possible to display flagging
information for a measurement set.
A couple of comments:
a. When I display a measurement set on my machine it comes up with the
amplitudes displayed as grey and the flags marked in purple. This is not
the way it behaved before. Is this intentional ?
b. Note that the flagging option lists the color transformation as
"In Color". If I change this to "Masked to Background" then I see the
normal color display. I find this a bit confusing although Dave tells me
this button labeling is literally correct.
2. The mouse tracking seems to be working very well on measurement sets. I
really like the mouse being able to track field id, spectral window,
polarization, antennas, and flagging status as well as baseline, time, and
intensity.
3. I really like the Leave Open button on the Load Data Panel.
4. I cannot duplicate the image cursor readback problem Dirk and I saw
at the ADASS. When I first loaded the display I thought I saw it but
after reloading the images I cannot duplicate the problem. Pilot error ...
5. The Quit Viewer Data menu item does not seem to be working ?
6. At present it appears to be impossible to display two different
images side by side in the viewer. I figured out how to adjust the
number of panels, but it appears to be impossible to assign different
images to different panels. Instead different channels are assigned
to different panels. Is this case or am I missing something ?
7. The Data Dispplay Option Panel contains tabs for each load image.
It would be nice to be able to click on a tab to display the image
in the viewer as well as set display parameters.
Lindsey
