[chuug] Adelphia (comcast?) cable modem issues?

there was a story in last Friday's Daily Progress about the cable modem
snafu.
Call the paper and see if they can direct you to the writer. We (the
comcast users) need a SIG forum where we can consolidate complaints.
I was thinking that the CHUUG web site would be a good independent site to
consolidate Comcast problems and info.
The cable support line person I talked to said Cville was already converted
over to ComCast.
Our family had no cable and no internet all weekend. We lost it during the
windstorm at noon on Friday. The company wouldn't send a repair person out
on the weekend unless "10 customers called within 15 minutes". This makes
it an area problem. We only had 3-4 neighbors without any service. We
were reconnected Monday at 11am.
cheers,
