Hi folks,

There is a seriously good chance (we have tentative approval) that the
NRAO will be hiring a temporary addition to our unix/Linux sysadmin
team from approximately July 1 through the end of the year. We need
someone to fill in for one of our admins while she's on maternity
leave. Just to make sure this is clear, there is no chance of this
turning in to a full-time hire.

In terms of skills and experience we're looking for as many of the
following as we can get:

  * Serious experience with Linux in a (large) networked environment
     (Especially with RedHat Enterprise Linux or similar)

  * Experience with any or all of:
       * ISC dhcpd
       * ISC bind9
       * sendmail
       * gnome desktop environment
       * openldap
       * cups
       * scripting in perl/bash/python/etc

  * Ability to troubleshoot network and/or hardware problems
  * Experience with user support and helpdesks

Basic duties of this position would be:

  * Responding to user problems/requests through our helpdesk system
  * Setting up and deploying RedHat Enterprise Linux workstations
  * Working as part of a multi-site admin team to plan and roll out
     new features and keep all the sites in sync
  * Performing software upgrades as necessary

If you're interested, please contact me off the list for more information.

-Josh
