Hey all,

The Charlottesville Unix Users Group will be having our regular
monthly meeting on Tuesday, March 27, 2007 (that's next week) at 7PM
in the main auditorium of the NRAO building on the UVa campus. See the
web site at http://www.chuug.org/ for maps and directions.

Max Schubert has prepared a fantastic talk on open-source network
monitoring for us. I imagine Adrian will have the usual compliment of
books available for review, as well. This should be a great talk and I
really hope to see a lot of you there!

-Josh

Abstract:
There are a wide variety of open source tools available to help
technical staff manage and monitor critical system resources. This
talk will discuss the features, strengths. and weaknesses of five of
the most popular of these tools: Net-SNMP, Cacti, Nagios, SNMPTT, and
Puppet.

Bio:

Max Schubert is a software/network consultant who lives in
Charlottesville with his wife Marguerite and an eclectic mix of dogs.
He commutes daily to NOVA for his day job; many say this makes him
certifiably insane.
