I agree that it would be useful to categorize the conventions in the 
registry in various ways, but I think we should wait a year or so before 
attempting to do this.  It will be much easier, and more productive I 
think, to wait until we have 20 - 30 conventions in the registry; then 
it should be clearer how they can be subdivided into various categories. 
  For now, I think our priority should be to simply get more 
conventions documented in the registry, without diverting too much time 
now in debating different classification schemes.
